This is a topic that I have found myself talking a lot about recently, so I thought I’d write an article to help get my thoughts out there.
I think one of the main reasons why people don’t succeed in whatever they choose to pursue, is the fact that they don’t go all in. Now I’m not saying that they need to quit their jobs and do it full-time right out of the gate, but they don’t commit to creating their desired outcome.
It’s a self-sabotaging cycle because many people will get excited about a new venture, put forth only a minimal effort, then quit a month later because they didn’t make a million dollars. If you are this type of person, I have one piece of advice: commit!
I know lots of people that tell me everyday, “I just don’t have the time to be successful…”, and to those people I am calling their bluff!
Your job only takes 8 hours of your day, also sleeping is probably 8 hours, then any travel time, family time, meal time, let’s say those combined take 4 hours of your day. That still leaves you with 4 hours everyday that you could be working on your freedom.
The difference between millionaires and everyone else, is that they aren’t spending those 4 hours glued to the television!
Pro Tip: Getting rid of your T.V. will make you more productive.
I don’t even own a T.V., and people act surprised when they ask what I do with my time and I simply reply, “hustle.”
I get asked, “Karl, how can I be more successful?” My answer every time is stop doing the things that everyone else is doing.
See, you need to be willing to do what other people will not so that you can live how other people cannot. If you really want to make a change, then commit and make the change!
Now what I must point out is that there is a big difference between being productive and being busy.
Many people believe if they are busy, they are productive. That is not always true.
New Entrepreneurs, especially in the Network Marketing industry, have a tendency to get caught up doing busy work but mistaking it for productivity, then complaining that they’ve worked so hard but have no results to show for it.
Here’s the 1 question that you can ask yourself to determine if you are being busy or productive: “Have I talked to anyone about my business today?”
If that answer is NO, then you are busy! You can spend hours upon hours setting up funnels, writing blog posts, sending friend requests on Facebook, but if you never actually tell anyone about what you have to offer, then you will never be successful.
The last point I will make in this article is this, you need to know why you want to make a change. You need to know why you want to impact people’s lives with your business. You need to know why you are doing what you are doing.
If your why does not cause you to wake up excited each morning to go out and share it with other people, then your why is not strong enough.
I often ask people what their why is when they aren’t taking action, they give me their response, and I tell them that their why is my Camaro.
See, when I was 19 years old, young and excited about business, I had no idea why I was doing what I was doing. So I would tell my mentors that my why is a brand new Camaro.
Guess what? I never got the Camaro.
It was not a compelling enough desire to cause me to take action every single day.
So if you read this far, congratulations, now go all in and commit to making a real change in your life!
Tell me in the comments below why you do what you do and I’ll see you at the top!
